Get OverOrganized! Free Printable Calendars

If you love to organize and over-organize like I do these printable may be for you.

When our girls were still young I had so many events, school functions and not to mention my own work schedule to keep track of. First I started with the monthly, then weekly then daily calendar/list. It is so nice to have a detailed list for the family to refer to.

I know what you're thinking; Isn't there a calendar on your phone?
Well yes, there is. But I can't seem to get anyone in the family to look at it. Seeing this on the fridge every day seems to get the point across.

You will notice that I have the weekend at the end of the week; not beginning on the traditional Sunday. I do this because many of our scheduled trips and events last from Friday to Sunday night and I like to just lump them in together. In my mind the week days are a block of random events and the weekend is it's own block of time. Am I alone in this?

It took some getting used to but I love it this way.

I also like to paperclip any invites, event flyers or specific coupons to the weekly page it applies to. This way all of what I need is in one place and ready when Monday morning arrives, rather then creating clutter on my fridge.

Once I have printed off a years worth of pages, I clamp together and glue with padding compound. This can be found on Amazon or at your local craft store. Simply clamp the pages together with clips and paint the glue along the spine. By morning it will be dry and ready to hang.

Cell Phone Cover Download

My phone finally died so I was forced to get a new one and (worse) get a new phone case. #firstworldprobs
I like variety so I purchased a clear one to insert my doodles and designs.

Download and make sure you print out in high quality mode.

Custom Work- Sunriver Home

Through my my work outside of my little office here at home, I met a lovely couple who were building a home in Sunriver. This happens to be one of my very favorite places in Oregon and when they told me it would be built in the Arts & Crafts style I was thrilled to see the end result.

One day, the wife came to me with a request for a custom lino cut to surprise her husband with.
YAY!

So after a lot of revisions...

and hours of carving...

and a ton of brown tones...

Here it is!

The best part for me is seeing the recipients face when it is done. Most of my custom work is done over the internet so I never get to see the reactions of my clients.

If you are interested in a custom piece of your home please feel free to contact me and I can send you the info/pricing for both linoleum block or just the watercolor options.I should soon have it listed in the shop as well.

What's Making Us Happy- APRIL

There are always new things happening around here but there are more then just household projects. Between our day jobs, our pseudo homestead, friend and family we are always discovering new things that make us happy.

I become sort of zealous about the things I love and want to share it with everyone I know.

The reason I am starting this little segment is due to my obsession with podcasts and one in particular called The Simple Show by Tsh who created the Art of Simple. At the end she always talks about what's making her happy and I love hearing about something new to read, watch or explore.

Definitely get her show in your feed. Love her!

1.

I watched this series on youtube a long time ago and became obsessed. I recently bought the entire series and listen to it while I work in my office. It's addicting.  We had Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, the british have Lark Rise To Candleford. Not at all the same in subject (except for the strong female lead role) but they were both family friendly with a feel good ending to each episode. Sadly, there is no Sully character in this one.

2.
Gardening season has a brief respite in December-January here but otherwise we are out there cleaning things up, dividing and planting in those other cold months so I grabbed these Kinco Insulated gloves. They are awesome! I usually get the Costco pack of gloves but the grips break down and become hard almost instantly. In keeping with my mantra of Simplify this year, I am no longer buying things that won't last, need extra care or hold me back. These are excellent and I even wear them on those rare 80 degree spring days.

Mark has been reading and consequently obsessed with  Fifty Places to Dive Before You Die

He began reading it last month and upon finishing he is starting it all over again. When I get up to check email/do work on the laptop there are about four tabs open on diving fiji and other areas.
This guy deserves a trip like this though.  He dives off the cold and murky Oregon coast in bays and jetties so I know this would be a wonderful, life altering adventure for him.

The problem is, I don't dive. I swim. I will even snorkel. And he is seriously looking into live-abord type trips. That's an entire week of me on a boat by myself while the others dive 5 times a day. So I guess if this happens you will be seeing posts of me with instructors in our local community pools. Blurg.

4.
Next, When I am working on any project or driving to and from work, I'm listening to podcasts. The latest obsession is one that Shandell of Breaking New Ground shared with me about the Chris Brown Show. He is part of the Dave Ramsey team, helping people get out of debt, manage and invest. It's so addicting!

Rocco in Paint

Months before Rocco became sick I had been wanting to commission a portrait of him from the amazing Mica Hendricks of Busy Mockingbird. She captured him perfectly and in a way I will always remember him; Ears perked up, tongue out and ready for another adventure.

Also, she not only does animals but people too! You should really check out her work. I mean it.
HERE is a blog post of hers with details and examples.

Can you tell I feel very passionately about this? She is awesome.

Room Names- Lino Block Cuts

Slowly but surely I am plugging away at my latest project.

Very slowly.

In January I began the drawings, February I carved and printed two, March I painted a bit and now it's April and my work out of the home has me completely consumed.

So they sit on the rack.

This is going to be a series of 6 lino block prints of varied leaves. Each represents a room in my home and will be hung outside with the rest for purchase in the shop This one is for El's room since it looks out over the copper beech tree.

I show here only a small test for the color but there will be a background added as I go.

So, 2 down, 4 to go. I'll keep you posted.
